I have a 1930's Babe Ruth flip movie that has a rusty staple that has stained the paper on the front and back of the booklet. Is there any way to safely remove this stain or will it get larger without doing anything? I'm not looking to sell it just want to slow or remove the damage. Thanks |

I don't think the rust will get worst if it is removed from the conditions that caused the problems in the first place. I don't think there is any way to remove the rust without a restoration label being accteched to the item. You could replace the staple, but again that might might it a less desirable item as it would not be original. |

Removing the staple will slow to stop the rust spread. Rust isn't like a fungus. |

Wisconsinite here as well. Yes, bad winters = half your car gone, lol. I would get that staple off of there asap. Not sure on the cleaning of the stains. |
