I HAVE A LOU GEHRIG CARD OF SOME SORT THAT I HAD PURCHASED AT AN ESTATE SALE..ON THE FRONT IT HAS LOU SWINGING THE BAT AND ON THE BACK ITS BLANK..IT IS APPROX. THE SAME SIZE AS THE W STRIP CARDS IT IS ON A THIN CARDBOARD STOCK..I HAVE HAD THIS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW..AND HAVE TRIED TOO HAVE IT RESEARCHED TOO COME UP EMPTY ON EVERY SEARCH BECKETT EVEN RAN IT IN THE VINTAGE MAGAZINE AND NOT ONE REPLY..THE ONLY THING I KNOW IS THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALERS IN FT. WASHINGTON JUDGING BY THE STOCK IT APPEARS TOO BE FROM THE 1920' OR 30'2..IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME ANY KIND OF CLUE I WILL DEEPLY APPRECIATE THIS FOR I WOULD LOVE TOO KNOW WHAT THIS CARD IS THAT I HAVE..IF THIS IMAGE DOESN'T SHOW UP PLEASE FEEL FREE TOO EMAIL ME AT UNEARTHED6669@YAHOO.COM

To the original poster- there is a good chance someone on this board will have an idea of what it is. If you can post a picture it will help. Most likely cut off of an advertising piece and never intended to be a card....imo.....I could be wrong but that's an educated guess....

you could be right...it either seems too be cut from something or maybe some sort of strip card..but i have no clue

Jeff -

the lighting/background for the picture of the back of the item was just fine. It worked.

I don't know why you would change it for the front - but the change didn't work for the photograph.


Also - in general a scan (using a scanner) is better than taking a photo of an item.

I agree that, from the scans shown, it looks to probably be a more modern piece.....not period.....would know better if I were holding it to feel the stock.... (and to be able to smell it ) regards

It looks like a cut-out from a (possibly vintage) periodical that has been pasted onto a piece of cardboard.
