Does anyone have any comments relative to storing graded cards in plastic "zip lock bags". The bags are made for graded cards, (i.e. Ultra-Pro graded card sleeves). The bags protect from scratches, however I wasn't sure if they would cause any other problems, i.e. condensation etc. Thanks for any advise. |

But what will stop the plastic bag from getting scratched? |

I would think if you store slabs where they are touching each other that you would want the graded card sleeves protecting them from scratches. I need to hit a show and get a few (I don't crack all my graded cards, just most of them) and I believe PSA and SGC sleeves are differently sized to boot. |

There are no problems with using the sleeves over the slabs. |

I've actually had those Ultra Pro sleeves leave a film/residue of some kind on the holders. I haven't tried any other brands, but that's my experience with them. |

Those sleeves are supposed to be free of any chemical that can leech onto a card or slab. I think the film/residue that you are referring to is sometimes just found on the slabs - Ive had several cards come back from SGC with a film or residue visable in the plastic - and would guess that this is what you are seeing (though obviously I dont know for fact that we are seeing the same thing). |

Whatever it is, windex and a paper towel gets it off the holder. I'm not sure if it's possible, but what would be nice is if the grading companies would just start using scratch resistant plastic or at least offer scratch resistant holders as an option for a few dollars more. |
