Well after his retirement, former Packers wide receiver Max McGee remained a popular and colorful figure within Wisconsin. He was the colorful color commentator to Packer radio games. As with many sport fans, my family would watch the game of TV and listen to sound on radio. The rumor was, as radio commentator, McGee would start drinking in the first quarter which is why he didn't make much sense in the fourth. I remember when he got into trouble after it was mentioned to him on air the Packers were going to have chearleaders and he said you couldn't find enough good looking women in Green Bay to form a squad. |
