I called both numbers I have & all I get is recordings telling me to go to online help

I've wasted 20 minutes as u can't reach a human

anyone know anyone there with a extension I can call in customer service?

You have to be a big wig, whatever that means, to get a live person. Of course the phone will tell you to go online because they would get so many calls if they gave out their to everyone.

Depending on your problem it might be easier to ask online, they do have live help that has worked for me in the past.

I hope you aren't inferring I am a big wig?, though I guess I could use one....being mostly bald and all......At any rate I do have 1 # for the gentleman I work with in the Ebay fraud dept. If this request has anything to do with that kind of issue then I would make that call for Tony...as I would for any board member.....BTW, what is the definition of a "big wig"? Just curious....

I mean someone who generates a lot of $ per month. A friend told me he complained to ebay online that he needs to talk to a live person and told them he spends thousands of $ a month so they should give him a phone #. and he got it...

big wig = someone important, whether its cuz they've got money or a higher position than the normal person. Like, at your job, your boss might be considered a big wig.

I just received a email reply from ebay
they told me they are a online company
no more phone contact with them
they have no time to talk to us peons
but u can email them & they will reply at their leisure
if u are worthy of a reply
another reply from their "Customer NO service dept"

i was told by eBay the number is for top buyers...only 3% of all eBay users are given the number.

i know this sounds absolutely ridiculous, but they also said even if someone calls the number, they verify your user ID, and know if you are able to call or not...don't shoot the messenger, just what i was told.

I'm the same way.
If you get through and talk to me at home, first thing I do is request that you send me a money order for $10,000. And then once that gets cashed, I will return the call.
no favorites. Same policy for everyone.
it really ticks off my family.

Here's a long shot to try if you're really ticked about something. Ebay is a publicly traded company. This is from their corporate profile page. Maybe ask for Ms. Whitman's office.

You know ebay has a chatroom that you can use if you want to interact with a customer service representative. You can access it from your home page. We've used it a few times and it's been helpful. You can always start there.

I've got a 24 hour live number - but whoever mentioned it above is right -- before they even talk to me I have to give them name, phone number and address.

The live online help is usually tough to get through -- you can go to it from the main page in the upper right corner -- but there is also a special link http://livechat.ebay.com/Chat/servlet/AppMain?__lFILE=index.jsp&grp=ATO designed for hijacked accounts -- you get persons more knowledgeable and usually get someone much faster.

I live about 5 minutes literally from Ebay's HQ's...I have gone to the office on behalf of others with complaints..they tell me the customer service dept is handled via email or phone and not in person. I told them I'm here because that wasn't working...the only thing I got them to do was to take the copies of my friend's complaints and they promised to forward it to the customer service dept. Ofcourse nada..my friends got it resolved eventually but it involved myriad of emails and phone calls. Standing in the lobby, I felt like Michael Moore in one of his films...

I have had issues with eBay in the past and eBay live has always helped out in twenty minutes or less. Just try and use that.
