Housing / Stock Market Affecting Card Market ??

I am curious to get a few different opinions from board members as to whether the current softening in the housing and stock markets will eventually affect card prices.

It would seem to me that at some point there will have to be some belt tightening in a few family budgets and I wonder if card purchases might be the first thing to go?

I'm in Canada and mainly deal in hockey and was wondering if baseball card prices are still strong or has there been any weakening lately?
