I say Not. I thought that these had an image of a baseball on the back. Also, Ive never seen the stick go through the paper. What do you think? |

A rule of thumb is that antique staples are brown and rusty, and there typically are noticeable rust stains on the paper or cardboard. The staples here appear brand new. |

it appears to be a photocopy. Look at the color/clarity-without the proper age "look", back foxing appears applied, handle looks like it's hand cut not uniform as they most often were, BIGGEST warning is that it appears trimmed around edges (was a die-cut if I remember correctly). 2 things of note: David correct about the staples which at the very least suggest possible repair. Other thing is I just want to mention that sometimes things aren't what they seem which goes BOTH WAYS. I always like to feel I'm giving the other guy the benefit of the doubt as we are after all looking at these things from a distance in an artificial surroundings. I DO recall seeing something else "special" in one of their listings a while back. I remember it was something I was suspect about despite their 10,000+ feedbacks. |

A big hint is that the fan is listed in the REPRODUCTION subcategory of advertising signs. |

I bought a Chase two years ago--$700. The stick poked through a little. the Mathewson, the owner kept--it was repaired, but looked a thousand times better than this (the Mathewson in question)--color, no shiney staples. |
