If someone who had no clue as to what it was found a quarter of a stained,
encrusted, defaced burnt shard of paper, he would not put it on eBay, especially as
his first ever item auctioned. For the same reason he wouldn't put a grease
stained portion of a milk carton or a torn cardboard toilet paper tube on eBay.
They would all appear to be pieces of garbage of similar financial value.

I think an authentic one in comparable condition would bring close to $50,000. If I had a few million dollars more than I currently have I might pay that much.

If he really had no idea what he was selling, how ould he be able to "guess" that the company name on the back was "Piedmont" from only being able to see maybe the letters "dmont" based on how that thing is trimmed?
