Interesting reading to some of us...As on topic as it gets imo...though I have actually had a few folks say they don't like this kind of stuff....as any of the old pioneers would say "ya can't please everyone"....Enjoy your hobby....

edited to say this is on loan to me from one of the nicest collectors I know, in the hobby, John Esch....any that know Mr.Esch will surely agree....best regards

At the end of this article (and he's not a good speller, he should have called me first) he says there is a catalog that has nearly every card ever issued. What catalog is that?

Since the article is about how to add cards to your collection, the inference is that the catalog he refers to has every card ever issued available for sale. But you may be right, he may just mean as a reference tool.

I'm sure that is the magazine exactly as it was issued. You can see the rusted staples. Nagy was working on a shoestring budget- there wouldn't be money to have it professionally published.

As most know, before computers you had to do something to communicate....the phone was good but I think in the early hobby days it was more traditional to write. This excerpt is the front page of The Sport Hobbyist, 1/5/1964, but spanning July-Aug 1963...I guess it took a few months for things to catch up back then. This pariticular edition had a lot of non sports and a lot of Topps and Bowman ads and stuff...Sometime in the future I will pull some of the classic ads out of some other ones, and post them....best regards
