If Santo had gotten in the Cubs of his era would have had 4 Hofers plus a Hofer manager play together for at least 4 years and never came close to the World Series. I wonder if any other team can say this? |

Just off the top of my head, how about the HOFer's from Cleveland that show up in t206? Lajoie, Flick, Joss and Young? Of course, there was no hall of fame manager there. So what about the Pirates of the late 30's or 1940? the Waner brothers, Al Lopez, Arky Vaughan, with Manush or Klein on the bench and managed by Traynor and later by Frisch? I suspect it happens more than one would think. |
