1941 Playball - Variation - Flaws - Fakes or ???

In looking at a PSA graded 1941 Play Ball that is on eBay right now I see on the back the copyright symbol and 1941 by it.

But on most cards that I see it just has the copy right symbol and no year by it?

It seems that more do not have it then do.

The Reese is a Hi# and none of the Hi# series (49-72) have the 1941 Copyright date on
them

The Mel Ott is a Lo# and the 48 cards in the Lo# series (#1-48) do have the 1941 date.
But, these same 48 cards can also be found without this date.
