was a great auction, one of the best looking groups of T206 cards i have seen in years, all very well centered, big fat borders (for you guys that are always scared of trimmed PSA cards- not here)... |

Rumors regarding the death of high-grade cards might have been greatly exaggerated! |

Was anyone aside from me surprised at the price on the e106 set? That is quite a hefty price tag for a bunch of trimmed cards. |

I was blown back by the closing price on the E106's as well. They really took off in the end after having loomed right around the $3000 range for over 2 weeks. I was hoping to pick up the Dooin if the set was broken up but at that price for the set I am not sure I can afford a single but only time will tell. I guess they are coming around finally as a desirable set. |

You should understand with a rare complete set such as E106, all that extravagant bidding at the end is likely two guys going back and forth until one of them finally gets tired and gives up. The final price is not always a true indicator of the market. Take that same set and sell the cards one at a time, and see if it adds up. |

I don't follow T206 high grade prices....how were the prices in SCP compared to prices in the past? Did JimC's ploy of scaring the hobby and getting PSA 8 cards at cheap prices work? (that's a joke folks!) |

the market is still very strong, 7's went for higher then i thought and there was a lot of action on the 8's...the cards were stunning, as i mentioned earlier, big borders, well centered, just a great looking batch...these cards did much better then the Heritage bunch. |

Unfortunately, I was one of those hoping to come away with either the e106 set or the 1909 Obak set. Both, coincidentally are the two main topics of this entire thread. I would have given serious thought to breaking the e106 set up as well since the only card I really wanted was Stovall (a KC player). I too got caught up in thinking I might win it affordably since it sat at $2550 for a couple weeks. |
