Since we are talking rare cards when was the last time anyone saw a type 2 E100 for sale? I have seen exactly 1, and bought it, about 6 years ago from a Lipset auction. Anyone seen any besides that one? How 'bout you old timers? I know Mark M has quite a few but I don't know anyone else with even 1. |

I bought a collection that had a near complete E99 and E100 set and had at least one or two type 2's, but this is maybe 12 years ago. They were like $35 a card and I remember being nervous that I would never be able to sell them and bailed out quickly for a decent profit. Should I have hung onto them? |

The scans are too small to tell if the font is different then the type 1s (should be thinner) and if there is a period and a comma following the position. However, comparing the the scan of the Powell above to a scan of another Powell which is a known type 1, it appears the images are exactly the same. The type 2s images are larger and cropped differently. |

Each player offered in this set come with four different color backgrounds - Green, Yellow, Blue and Red. It is assumed all cards can be found with each of the color backgrounds. Type one cards are the 'standard" versions that feature the printed backs. Type two cards are blank backed and use the same images as their type one counterparts but the images are cropped closer or 'enlarged". Type two cards have been found with Green or Orange backgrounds. If there is no name listed then that player/color combination is unknown. |

I am not sure why you are posting and saying some things that leave me scratching my head lately. Earlier in a thread you posted some cards that were supposed to be yours....an E107 Young in a 3 holder, another HOF'er E107, and a D303 Cobb in a 4 holder. I thought you said you were 23 before, and new to the hobby, or was that someone else? Those are some mighty nice cards for someone new to the hobby? Now you are saying these cards are E100 type 2's and they aren't. I have one of the ones you've shown on my website, Bunny Pearce, too...and yours is not inverted. It also looks like you cut and pasted what a type 2 is from some website somewhere? Am I missing something here? Just curious....I will apologize if I am wrong.....I learn something new everyday... |

The pics weren't mislabeled. You were just wrong....no big deal....Post them again and lets see if they were labeled as type 2's. I bet they aren't.....Please be careful on the board. This is a friendly warning.... |

I dont own any E100's i was just attempting to post a picture of a couple i found on a website, i wasnt claiming to own those cards, did i ever claim to own those cards? Tell me where i wrote I own these cards. I tried to post examples i messed up, sorry. I also found the information on an explanation about E100 type II on a webpage I didnt claim to write that either, i saw a question asking how do you know if its a type II so i cut and pasted what i found. Yes im 23, and I also make 50K a year as a casino table games dealer. Im been working on finishing my BA while living at home, that means no rent, no expenses So i do have more money available to me then it might seem. No im not rich but i do make enough to enjoy this hobby. Apparently Leon you dont like my posting. I didnt know it was a prerequisite to own every card you ever post a picture of. Since ive had to defend myself in every post tonight, Im going to stop posting. |

dstudeba...those e's were being sold by a "legend" of the hobby (you may even call him a monster) and I offered him a very generous offer for the 3 to end it early(which I've never done)...needless to say I guess he found a better offer! I personally don't think he knew what he had until i made my offer. |

The type 2 E100's are distinctly different. They have blank backs, the poses are cropped differently, inverted, and the lettering of their names and teams is different (as far as I know...I have only seen 1-2 type 2's). The one auctioned was a type 1.....best regards |

As the others mentioned the one up for auction is a Type 2. I didn't want to say anything before the auction ended as I didn't want to be accused of tampering with another board member's auction that I was interested in. |

The E100 and E90-3 sets are a favorite of mine, and I am trying to complete the sets. I have a question about the different color variations that have been seen with the E100 set. In Lew Lipset's book and Pete's site they say there are four possible color combinations for the E100: Green, Blue, Yellow and Red, and the E99 set has 4 possible: Green, Blue, Yellow and Purple. |

Thank you for the responses, public and private. Apparently there are several color variations within the set (Thanks Mark) that is going to make this venture nearly impossible, but fun. |
