A nice lot of 1908 and 1909 Dietsche postcards just finished up on Ebay. Does anybody have any idea of the relative scarcity of the '08 and '09 issues versus the 1907 issue? I have been following the postcards on Ebay for the past year or so and don't recall having seen many of the '08-'09's before. |

They are more scarce. I have the set of Detroit 1907, don't have any 08 or 09. They don't show up very often. Where are they, I would like to see completed prices. |

about the cards that recently sold is that several had the 1908 copyright. The first series, 1907, had the player's name on the address side of the card in the short writeup. The 1908's have the player's name hand printed on the front of the card. To date I had only seen one 1907 with a 1908 copyright and that was Coughlin. I think that made the cards more desirable. Rob Silverman has a very interesting article on the Dietsche's in the Summer, 2006 issue of Old Cardboard, pages 31 to36. Good reading! |
