I don't know much about basketball or basketball cards, but $18,000 and the reserve STILL isn't met? |

What part don't you understand? The fact that 20 people bid more than $10K? The fact that the high bidder bid over $18K? Or the fact that THAT WASN'T ENOUGH TO MEET THE RESERVE?????!!!!!!!! |

This shiney stuff is certainly far from my expertise, but there is money in that material, as we all know. |

I like to call this type of thing "artificial rarity." A 3x5 index card with a Wade sig books for $20. If he misses a few freethrows, the value drops $5,000. Plus, it's an ugly thing. Nouveau riche money. |

I'll mortgage my house today, gotta have that thing. Are these people nuts?! I mean, I know someone would say the same thing about me, and perhaps "us" as a whole due to some of our purchases, but...Wow! Pain medication kicking in, I think now i'll bid on it. Maybe that's the problem, bidders are all doped up. |

I actually follow the newer stuff and I think this is another example of the Pope autograph of last year. People sense a ridiculously-high reserve and just bid for sport. There is no way this 3/3 is even close to worth that. There are plenty of Wade auto/game used out there, low-numbered, that don't even fetch close to that. |
