I got into collecting the minor league stuff because I was looking for cards of guys who played in the Negro Leagues. Also, my grandmother was a big Oakland Oaks fan. Right now, I'm really only collecting stuff from the 50's--I ahve a couple Hage's Dairy, a few Globe Printings, a few Parkhurst, about halfway through the Laval Dairy set, a few Mother's, a bunch of Remar Oaks cards, etc. One day, I'd really love to start up with the Obaks and Zeenut cards as I think they're just great sets. My dream PCL card would be a Jimmy Claxton Zeenut. That card's got everything for me--he played for the Oaks, he played in the Negro Leagues, it's a PCL issue and it's vintage. Perfect! |

I have a 30-year obsession with the ugly little things, but haven't had the scratch to amass a really nice group until the last 5 or so years. I still have a bunch of HOFers and popular players I want and I am certain that absent a really lucky stroke I will never own the Thorpe, the Claxton or the Black Sox players, but I am still trying. Vince DeMaggio [sic] just joined the flock. Look for a whimsical article I wrote on a Zeenut in an upcoming Old Cardboard. |

I am semi intersted in starting a c46 set but would like to read up on the issue first. I am not sure if it is an obscure minor league issue though. |

I've been collecting T210-2s for a little bit and have had some great help from board members with some cheap lowgrade ones. I have also started the T209-2 Greenville team because I know right now I can not do the whole set so why not just concentrate on one area, complete that, and then move onto another team. As far as obscure cards I don't really activly collect Voskamp's but I do have 30 percent of the set and have plans to pursue it once I have enough income to back up $500+ card purchases. |

As a Detroit collector for 30 years, about 6 months ago I started having an interest in players in the minor leagues who played for Detroit at one time. Have some Zeenuts, Obaks and C46 issues.. |

T-210 Series 6 --I am finishing up the last 2 Frankfort players I need then I will start on another team --I am interested in the history of the Blue Grass League ( 1908-1912) and these cards are a fascinating way to tie the research to actual pictures of the players. |

As a longtime resident of California, I've always been fascinated by Pacific Coast League cards. The Obaks, as well as the 1948 Signal Oil cards and the 1952-53 Mothers Cookies are among my favorite sets. The '48 Signal Oil cards, which only feature Oakland Oaks, may be the first baseball card set ever to use actual color photos. Even if they're not the first (does anybody out there know of an earlier set?), the images are among the finest on any cards ... |

I'm embarking on a T209 Type I collection. Mostly with the help of our moderator, I'm a quarter way there so far. I grew up in North Carolina (not so long ago), and I love the local flavor and great pictures of the cards. (Plus, when else can you get a picture of someone named "Fullenwider?" I think I'd like to embark on the T209 IIs at some point as well, I just picked up my first one. That set is daunting in its combination of size and rarity, but collecting by team is a great idea, does anyone know a checklist by team availabe for that set? |

I'm working on 1952 Mother's Cookies, T210-2s and a number of Zeenuts sets as well as Los Angeles and Venice Zeenuts! I'd love to do E100, but only have 1. I'm also doing 1949 Bowman PCL -- anyone else working on that? |
