Posted By: Keith O'Leary Its the set I would have suggested as well for you to start out on.
You won't break the bank on em, 2 player cards with a unique design, plenty of HOFers, stats on the back, colorful. Nice pick up.

Posted By: Ray Thanks fellas. How does everyone feel about the 1936 Goudey set ("regular" size, not the wide pens) as a starter set for a guy with a very limited budget? -Ray |

Posted By: T206Collector ...I don't care much for post-WWI cards. And, as far as starter sets go, it is hard to go wrong with T206. |

Posted By: Tom Boblitt 36 Goudey is a nice set for someone to collect in starting off. Not too many cards, no huge HOFers to break the bank and you can get EX condition cards in the $20-$30 range for 'commons'. Plus if you want to get really jiggy, try to collect the different backs or 1-2 players with different backs. They're not scarce but aren't all over the place either. |

Posted By: Anonymous Further research shows me that you're probably right. It's really hard to tell the difference from the two sets. Is there an easy way? Are the backs different or #d? Thanks |
