I personally consider them on par with GAI & PSA but a few steps down from SGC. Very strong protective slabs BTW |

the slabs are really hard to crack. Of the BVG cards I've considered purchasing I'd say the grading was a bit below par with what I'd expect. |

I've bought 4 bvg's and 3 were deemed trimmed by GAI. |

Ive always steered away from BVG just for the reason as Scott said. Thats really bad Scott, Ive heard a lot of there cards encased were trimmed. |

I think they are on par with GAI & PSA too. SGC is my first choice, but not by much. I've seen mistakes by all the grading companies. That's just going to happen. I dont have an issue buying BVG cards. |

Contrary to what Adam says, BVG cases are the easiest to crack. I have been saying this for some time and I think I need to start a thread later about how to do this. |

i find SGC the best. go grading, i here less about mistakes and has a nice slab. GAI is way to generous grading. i dont know how somes of these cards they garde r what they say. |

I agree that the Wagner is probably overgraded by a half grade. I would think that with a nice clean surface and image and no creasing that that degree of corner wear falls into the vg category. |

I"m not a fan of BVG. I've owned 2 BVG cards in my life and they were sent to SGC for crossover and one came back as trimmed. |

I showed my wife two cards SCD just gave me 1.5(20) grades...we were married when I took up the hobby again over 20 years ago...so she has seen the hobby change over time, along side me at shows, through ebay auctions and 1000's of cards showing up at my home. I only collect pre 1961 cards(though 80% are pre 1935). Even she was shocked at the reckless, misgrading of the cards, or, perhaps I should say their cavalliere changing of grading as is recognized in our hobby. I can't send you images(which I would like to do...but I'm not computer literate and don't see how to). MY cards are not 1.5. I have a number of the hightest graded sets registered at PSA and SGC...crummy cards are not what I purchase(this year I spent over $90,000 on cards). I assure you SGC doesn't even sound professional when you call and talk to them...sounds like some kids playing 'grown up'. PSA is still superior to SGC. |

"Sports Card Digest" closed its doors more than a year ago. A new company bought the rights to the "SCD" logo, machinery, etc., though the name of the company is actually "Sports Card Direct." So if Sports Card Direct is "going downhill" from Sports Card Digest, perhaps it's because it's not the same company. |

In your last statement when you said "SGC" sounding like kids did you mean "SCD"....or is there something I am missing at SGC? regards |

If they grade my cards accurately and provide solid service, I don't care if it sounds like a three-ring circus on the phone. |
