Julie VognarThey TOOK an amazing amount with them, but some of it will be coming back, both naked and graded, as unsuitable. This is NOT likely to include any Black Sox cards, though there will be 2-3 non-original Black Sox photos (some worth a bit, but they only want the original ones, cha, cha.). And although they wanted ALL my chess cards (some of them are REALLY cheap things!), they want NONE of the 5 boxing items (there is one T227, but it's in really bad shape..the other perfectly presentable ones, they said, weren't worth it). They want ALL the Fan Craze (sic!), but I don't know about the T206s. They want all my T202s, and my '56 Topps set (amazing!)--I didn't send them any cards from the '50s or later--even real nice ones.
At last report, they don't want the McPhee scorecard, partly because its missing its accordian-back, and partly because they auctioned a whole (common) one that didn't do well. They may change their minds about that.
There are dozens of things I didn't even show them. Some of these I will be consigning to Mark Macrae, and some I will keep. My 3-4 World Series Press Pins, I think I'll keep. Some original and wire photos, late '20s to '50s, I'd probably sell cheap. Hockey and japanese stuff I'll keep for a while.
I'll let people know when I get the stuff organized that comes back from REA as unsuitable, and get it integrated with the stuff they didn't take to begin with. gee, I may even have a collection of sorts left...
