Questionable authenticity? If you don't know this a reprint I think it is time to stick to mdern cards: |

I agree. When a new person to vintage collecting sees a card like this on ebay or even the ?auth? label by PSA on a card I think all they see is the graders label and then bid. Another thing I think that happens is that a person sees lets say a Ty Cobb T206 red port in a case that says auth? I believe that the people bidding on these cards are new and uneducated so the person thinks hey this maybe real and the graders aren't sure so i'm going to take a shot, it doesn't say its FAKE just that it maybe fake. I think this whole ?auth thing is dumb and they just need to put a big marker that says FAKE on the toploader. Edited to add that if you are new to vintage don't go looking for a 50 dollar Ty Cobb. What you need to do is buy a few commons and get the feel of it and EDUCATE yourself. These cards with the whole ?auth thing or the this maybe real or not are all scams so don't waste your money. When a guy says this maybe real then its fake. |

I notice the Becket form has a check box for "Service Not Available." When is that checked? When someone brings in his car for a lube job? |

David I know what it means, but what im saying is many people don't imo and that the holders need to be labeled FAKE. Whats the point in labeling a reprint questionable ? PSA is smarter than that and needs to just put FAKE on it. |

Zach, we can agree that we agree. The problem with PSA's word is it looks a whole lot closer to 'authentic' than 'fake.' I think they say questionable authenticity for liability reasons, but there's nothing dangerous or unclear about the word 'rejected.' |

That 'fake' label has been altered. I think that means the card might be real. |

because none of them have the 'nads to stand behind their decisions. If they were to say "fake" instead of "we cannot authenticate it" they have no wiggle room when they mess up. |

lets see...i buy 10 fake green cobbs for a nickle, chew them up a little bit, put some "dip" stains on them, send them to psa with $10 to get a "?auth" label, turn around and sell them for $40-140...sounds like a good plan...of course its dishonest but when you're a crook, dishonest isnt in your vocabulary...psa should use a label like..."probably fake" |

Maybe the real ones can be tagged "not unauthentic" |

What happened to "reprint"? The card is authentic, jsut a authentic reprint. This stupid wording they use to try being politically correct is assinine. |
