Thats it Im suing these bastards! Seriously I tried this stunt years ago and all it led up to was a bunch of paperwork. Still trying to pay the settlements to that damn Glump kid. One kid gets stuck in a pipe and you damn near lose your business. |

Why this isn't illegal gambling is beyond my understanding. |

I haven't looked into it, but probably no purchase necessary, and therefore not considered gambling. |

Its not considered gambling since there are other cards in the pack, just like when Topps had their President signatures inserted 1 every gazillion packs. Or any other card company burying the 1 of 1 shiny glossy jersey/autograph insert of the current superstar. Its all a lottery, and a legal one at that. |

I beleive with most to all modern trading cards, a person can mail his or her name and address to potentially win an insert. This info is printed on the outside of most packs. |

Hi there, out of curiosity I bought a box of these cards. Surprised at what I found in packs example, 1996 Topps Randy Johnson Topps Lazer insert, 1993 Upperdeck Bruce Hurst, 1981 Topps Coca Cola advertising card, 1981 Coca Cola/Topps Jim Bibby and 1992 Leaf Joel Johnson, basically a bunch of junk older common cards in each pack. 1 autograph card in a separate envelope, 2000 Team Best rookie Brett Myers. Odds of getting 1 of the Class of 36 tickets are 1:1,111,111 whoa! Looks like this is a way to sell off a bunch of common cards from different companies that would not sell otherwise. There are other inserts at lower odds but I don't think anyone on this board is probably interested in those. I would think once collectors see their 1st pack, sales will drop dramatically. I would definitely call this gambling because not much else in these packs. I can't see anything on the packs or box indicating what type of cards are included. It just says 5 licensed cards in pack. |

Even with a reputable firm handing it, look at what happened with McDonalds and it's Monopoly game. All the major winning pieces were being stolen by insiders at the printing plant where the game pieces were manufactured and then distributed to friends and relatives. Everyone from security gaurds to high level employees were involved. So you'll excuse me if I have little faith in promotions like this. |

But the folks at Tri-Star are as honest as they come. So far, every one of their big prizes has been won by a legit collector. I have known Jeff, Bobby, Mandy, etc. for more than 10 years each now. |
