Ballantine Beer Coasters--Mr. Lemke

In 1941, Ballantine Beer produced a set of coasters...I always thought these were rather interesting and rarely seen...in the past few months, I managed to buy a handful and as I was posting a scan today, I noticed that there is a variation that is not listed...check the scans...



There are two different versions of this coaster (at least)...As another aside the 2005 SCD lists one of the Coasters as picturing Phillies but it really pictures Pirates.

Bob, I know 2006 is already in the works...maybe 2007.

Thanks, Joshua, for the pix of the Ballentine variations. We made the Phillies to Pirates correction earlier, but I should be able to get in a few words about the variations into the 2006 book.

Bob, if you're interested I have a 1956 Dick Stuart minor league card that is uncataloged. I believe it was given away at a Lincoln Chiefs game in 1956 (the year he hit 66 homeruns).

Dan, the card is in the SCD - back of the book in the Minor League section (under 1956 Mutual Savings).

Thanks Glen. Are there any other cards listed besides the Stuart? I think it might be time for me to update my SCD.
