I am looking into ridding my collection of all post-war cards. My problem is that I have never been very good at pricing the cards to sell. Any of the veteran collectors out there interested in looking at scans and working with me to help sell these? I can break everything up or sell as a whole. Not sure. Anyone willing to help out? |

I did the same thing recently. I put them on ebay and let 'em ride. Overall I did ok but there is a risk of no one bidding what they are worth.....I just didn't care to deal with it. I also noticed that folks that buy this newer stuff aren't as reliable as folks that buy in our space......just my observation.....good luck |

That post-war cards do not sell for "what they are worth?" It seems that pre-war cards generally sell much better than post-war. Do you think that many collectors are leaving the post-war market or is there just too many cards out there for the demand which makes the prices lower unless you have high grade examples? |

when my auctions begin so that I can have the attention of the few post-war collectors that lurk here from time to time. Thanks all for the help. |

Not fully true Julie at all... The regional food and Pacific coast league cards( 1940's - early 1960's) have INCRERASED by DOUBLE in some areas... In fact, these cards are in many ways are harder to find then turn of the century cards.. so your statement that post WWII cards has dropped is NOT true... Now..if you ment TOPPS and BOWMAN.... or main stream cards yes I agree.. |

I love the ones I own but I don't buy high grade specimens unless at a real bargain price and I collect on a very limited budget because these cards are readily found and can be obtained for very little money in lower grades. For example, I am working a 1953 Bowman set in low grade which I intend to finish for under $10 per card. I am certain I will make huge inroads in the set at some of the bigger shows at the price levels I want to spend because the bargain bins are full of them. |
