Do SGC, PSA and GAI grade the Zeenuts which have the coupons removed? If so, is the coupon-less card given a lower grade because of the removal? Just wondering. |

I have a GAI-graded ex 5 1927 O'Doul Zeenut without the coupon. I also have a PSA ex 5 graded 1925 Vitt without the coupon. |

are no longer grading couponless Zeenuts and you will get your grading fees back if you are expecting a numerical grade assigned. Just went through this with both of them. |

The Thorpe Zeenut in the recent Mastro acution has no coupon and was graded SGC 70. I just submitted a 1918 Zeenut with no coupon to SGC, so I'll let you know how it comes back. |

given how rare the coupons are, to have a card graded on its merits without the coupon and given a numerical grade based on that, and then if the card had the coupon for it to be called (as an example) 1926 Zeenut With Coupon and then graded accordingly? It would be a given that a card graded "with coupon" would have significantly more value. How do they handle grading Redman's with and without the coupons? |

It's a well known fact that there are very few Zeenuts with coupons available. What about the coupons? Does anyone have a nice collection of Zeenut coupons cut from different year Zeenut cards? |

Only the 1911 and 1912 cards did not have coupons. I have cards with coupons from 1913 thru 1919. Several of these I got from Leon @ the National. These have all been graded by SGC, which is very harsh on back paste. All look ex to em and are graded 3 or 4. All of my cards have blank backs. |

Besides the 1911 and 1912 sets, the 1938 set was also issued without an attached coupon (it came separately). The 1938's are always lumped with the 1937 issue because the front design is identical, but as of yet no one has completely been able to identify whether a particular card is from the 1937 set or from the 1938 set. The only way to do this is to find 1937 cards with the coupon intact. The Jim Horne Zeenut publication does list 46 of the 96 or so 1937-38 that had been found at the time (late 1970's?)with 1937 coupons, indicating a 1937 issue date. |

..on some supposed EXMT to NM 1911 Zeenuts. the ones that "Dodgerdude" is claiming came from Gus Zernials collection. lots of unadvertised creases and what sure looks like marks from attempts to spoon out creases. Very self-righteous seller won't budge (says as a power-seller he has no obligation to accept returns, has 30 yrs. experience, already paid his "client", too busy with his real job, etc..etc..) |

sorry for your loss; the Zernial story sounded like BS to me so I was very wary but the cards sure looked nice. Isn't this seller a SoCal--if you need to hammer him, LMK. CA law provides some pretty heavy penalties for selling altered cards without disclosure. |
