I've noticed the past few years that about a week before Christmas until two weeks after Christmas that there is a lot of impulse buying on ebay. I assume it could be the season as perhaps collectors are grabbing things and justifying their purchases by saying they are merely acting as Santa's agent for present shopping. Or perhaps it is easier to justify to the little woman as a "Christmas present" that couldn't be passed up. Or maybe it is the fact we are already charging the heck out of our credit cards so what is another couple of hundred dollars. For whatever reason, I am kind of surprised there haven't been more quality vintage cards offered with BINs this time of the year. Maybe we'll see some in the next couple of weeks. |

Those were the days. I remember going to shows in New Orleans, and the dealers there wouldn't even bring their caramel stock because of poor sales in that area. I was just interested in great players at great prices -- that's always a bargain. |

hoarding these caramels (like you!). Just kidding - but, you could let some more of those Croft's Candy cards go! Afterall, it could be some extra $$$ for those pricey E94's and E98's - when they show up soon. |

I personally believe the internet and ebay over the last few years have spawned the rapid growth in interest in caramel cards. First of all, with ebay it has become very apparent that caramel cards are waaaay less frequently seen than the common (T206, T205, etc) tobacco issues. Also, the internet, with all its visuals (ebay listings, personal sites, etc) has made the features of the various caramel sets and individual cards more accessible, and thus more attractive to attempt to collect them. |
