RayAs a regular lurker, and rare poster, I have to say that Mike's post about donating cards really touched me. You see, this is the first Christmas in a long time that I won't have a significant other to share it with. I got divorced this year, from someone i was with for nearly 9 years. As a result, I've had a hard time this Holiday Season. When I read Mike's and Richard's posts today, it made me think, that would be nice to do. And when I was out getting Christmas presents for my family, the whole time I was thinking about how the cards I sent those kids would mean more to them than any gift I gave my parents, brother, or friends. I know it sounds dumb, but that post has helped me remember what the Holiday Season is all about. It helped me realize its not how much you spend on someone, or what brand name is on the label, but its the fact that someone's thinking about you that should matter the most. So I want to personally thank Mike on this forum for helping me regain some joy this Holiday season. I can't wait to go to the post office with a box of baseball and football cards for Richard's elementary school kids (I'm a teacher so his post touched me). I hope this starts a yearly tradition for me and maybe a few of you as well.
Thanks again to Mike and Richard, and to everyone else who reads this. Not only have you helped a bunch of kids during the Holidays, but you've helped a grown up too.
