I hope none of you are bidding on this fake, the brunners bake only comes in green print, not black. |

First, hello to the group. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and enjoying the threads, just was afraid to stick my toe into the water. I've been a collector for over 40 years and have a decent collection of cards and sets from the 50's up. I also have more vintage items, including a complete set of T212-1911, some OJ's that unfortunately have been skinned, and some other stuff that would qualify as vintage. |

Yes, it's fake. I have one that looks just like it that I bought as real about 5-6 years ago. The ebayer said I could trade it for other stuff he had but I never got around to it. I decided to keep it as a reminder of what a fake looks like, albeit it an expensive one. I paid $40 for it as BIN ....and back then it was probably an $80 card....the back center is the most obvious....it's too white and the aging around the sides looks ...well...fake.....regards |

Wow, the seller has the LaJoie, a T-206 Wagner and a 1951 Bowman Mantle rookie. All with 1 day listings (less chance that eBAY will do anything since it is Thanksgiving?). |

I just love the way the Lajoie card has that "burnt look" around the edges. |

Jack, can you put a scan up of your black and dark brown brunners backs? I would bet large coin that if the backs aren't green, the cards are bad. Dan. |

....save your large coins. the 2 card backs i posted above were the ones Jack had seen as brown, when they are in fact green. I suspect that incandescent light may have made them look "less green". |

I think the eyes' ability to see color must be the second thing to go when you get older. My other D304 backs look like the two posted above. |
