Just added a great new book. titled "The Harvard Book" it was published in 1875 and deals with all aspects of Harvard life including a nearly 90 page chapter on the baseball teams that gives accounts of major games up to the publication date. The photo below heads the base ball chapter but I cannot figure out if its baseball or cricket or both. There are clearly wickets and cricket bats towards the rights of the picture, but are the players clad in white standing at position for baseball. Thoughts? If this is base ball is this the first photo to appear in a book? |
