Not sure "Ex Manager of the Chicago Cubs" would be the first thing I would think of when referencing Hornsby.

Guessing the original collector was not much of a sports fan since Hornsby was the only one to make the cut for the book.

I would say having the highest lifetime batting average for a right handed hitter might outweigh his lackluster managerial career.
