I liked the previous REA web page layout. The searches were a bit easier.
This new web page layout is ok, but there could be a few tweaks to improve it. Anybody else feel this way? I was happy to see that they are adding taxes for all states. The AHs collect 8.75% from me for taxes. When all bidders were not paying taxes, that was an extra chunk to consider for the bidding. I still don't get the taxes imposed on sales of baseball cards. Perhaps someone can explain that one to me. I can understand if the cards were "new" and put up for retail sale, but this is a frigging auction for old used stuff. I haven't tried to search the archives yet. That should be fun.

I could take it or leave it. On the plus side, the functionality seems a bit better, I can turn off emails that come each time I make a bid or when my bids get topped, which is a lot of emails if you're bidding on a large number of items.
On the negative side I find it is more difficult to increase bids than it was on the old system which now consumes a significant amount of time. My biggest pet peeve however still has not been fixed, that's the length of the decription that is shown on the thumbnail images. If looking at T206's, the description length allowed in many circumstances isn't long enough to see what reverse the card has. In many cases I have to go into the detailed description of the card to determine what advertising back they have. This is an enormous pain in the ass when you're looking at 500 cards. In my opinion it hurts the final sales price of those cards thatfall later alphabetically as I just give up looking after awhile. I'm guessing others do also. |

I much preferred the UI of the old version of the site.

Being heavily discussed in the thread below. REA's Brian Dwyer has even chimed in with comments and requests for feedback.

Rather annoying that every time my autobid was raised, I received an email noting that I was OUTBID. When in fact I still had the high bid.

This is the one thing that annoys me the most about the new site. The rest of it is alright. I liked the UI of the old site more but I think Ill get used to this one. On the whole I still think its a great site and the auction was still fantastic.

I think overall the new format is fine. As some else mentioned getting the “outbid” message when I wasn’t really outbid is something that I hope they fix.

Haven't done too much stuff in it yet but definitely noticed it's much more modern and has a more user-friendly interface, so I like it.

I like the new format. I find it easy to navigate, and I really like the quick bid function. Plus it just feels more modern.
If I could make one request for a change, it would be relative to the ‘my bids’ page. Maybe the powers that be are reading this 😀 During extended bidding, under the old platform, I could click the ‘closing soon’ tab under the ‘my bids’ page. This setup would filter the lots that had already ended to the bottom of my list and, more importantly, rank the remaining lots in order showing the exact time stamp of when each lot was ending. I found this to be very useful. Under the new platform, the ended lots are up at the top. This isn’t that big of an issue. But the other lots showed no time stamp of when they were ending. Maybe it was just user error on my part (quite possible). But I do miss the ability to easily see the lots that I have remaining live with their exact updated ending time easily viewable on one screen. Overall, I think the new platform is a winner. Kudos to REA. |

New site is much better than the old one.

Being a website owner members are creatures of habit and usually do not like the change at first but the more they use it the more they start seeing the changes are positive...
And I think the real reason for the change is they no longer have to pay a percentage of sales to a 3rd party app and keep it all in house. Which is better for everyone |

Well, it's better for them. Which is fine and understandable. It doesn't affect anybody else one way or the other as far as I know.
I don't understand why so many auction houses utilize this. All the money they have thrown away when the cost of creating something similar is ridiculously less over time. A percentage of sales in exchange for the software. Ludicrous. |

My number one complaint is having to constantly reset the number of items per page.

The old everything was fine, thanks, but I fully understand their wanting to change things for their own reasons. I only wish that they could have found a way to leave the things that classically worked so well as close to alone as possible while still understanding that they were perhaps forced to change things in order to not infringe on any copyrights(?). |

![]() An assumption is that REA will review comments/feedback and work to improve or enhance the new user interface.
