Helloo to all, I've lurked long at net54 and was registered ages ago but a new laptop meant a new account and introductions are due - I am a writer/photog guy who collects mostly local-centric stuff to my area, which is central Alabama.

I love prewar and minor league items, though I am not above some new stuff now and then, having put together a few heritage sets and that kinda thing. Cards, bats, jerseys, pennants and programs, especially if its Bham or Montgomery related.

Feel free to hmu if you have Southern League, Negro Southern League or Southern Assoc. interests. I saw someone here post a sweet Ed Greminger green border, its been years but Im wondering if is still available!

Hi Bocca, those are sweet! Boaz is a little town but they seem to have a strong baseball team around the turn of the century, I wonder which one is Elbert?

Here is original photo of 1909-10 Montgomery Hill Climbers. Champ Osteen at lower left. Member of 1904 NYAL. Also, I believe George Whiteman who played for NYAL in 1913 and Del Pratt, another Yankee

This is a fantastic item, the Champ Osteen team pic, is this in your collection? Let me know if you would ever part with it. I can probly name each of them as I have done a LOT of study on this crew and am working on finding the location, great shot!

Thank you so much! I have just one t-211, a heavily trimmed Derrill Pratt, would welcome a couple others should they wander into frame at some point. I love the artwork of the t210 and t211 era, its one of the things that drew me to net54baseball forums as there is fantastic info here on the subject. Thank you for providing such a great spot to trade notes and discuss the finer points!

Very cool! That's in great shape too, what a fabulous piece! Idk where folks come up with such great game used stuff from so long ago, I haven't seen a Montgomery Rebels gamer since I was a kid and they were being worn on the field. I like to dream there is a country barn somewhere packed with uniforms and old gloves just waiting for us to find.

May I ask, how do you store/display a classic cap? I have some modern game used hats but no idea how to display more than one or two, so they usually stay in a hatbox.

Also, same question for anyone with game-used batting gloves, which I have about a dozen pairs of. My wife hates em, says they look like primitive war trophies, so I don't display em! haha Any suggest for how to display them tastefully would be welcome!

I store them in plastic bags in a plastic container to save them from the bugs. I also display a few in an antique case that's kept them safe. I'm building a website to display them.

Here are few more Southern Association/League caps, including the Atlanta Crackers (late 1930s), Asheville Tourists (late 1960s) and Charlotte Hornets (late 1960s) ...

Wow, incredible condition on those! Amazing, what fabulous finds!
I kept some stuff in bags too until recently when an archivist friend practically knifed me for doing so, now I'm kind lookin to find a new storage that wont lock in our abundant southern humidity.
