How do both PSA and SGC grade cards like this. I know it is difficult to see, especially on the front but see the reverse and assume the pinkish areas on the reverse is glue residue. When in hand, it can easily been seen on the front and back.
So, which grading company should I send it to. I have several cards with the glue like this and are really nice. Thanks, Bob T206 Chance.jpg T206 Chance REV.jpg |

Both grading company’s will probably only give you a grade 1 with the glue on the card. IMO.
Not sure if you want to do this but I have had a lot of success removing glue from cards. I soaked them in warm distilled water for a few minutes and gently roll a q-Tip over the glue areas and the glue comes off very easily. You may need to change the water once or twice but the glue comes off very easily with this process. Once cleaned but between a paper towel and let dry between 2 heavy books for a day. T206 hold up very well during soaking. John P |

Thanks. I will try that with a common card and see how it works. I did try soaking one from the same lot years ago but it did not work. Maybe I will give it another try.

Soaking could work to get some of the glue off.
I might try warm, distilled water on a Q tip, then gently touch those areas to see if some will come off that way. It seems less invsasive. I have done it before on bigger blobs and it's worked. Soaking sometimes slightly discolors the whites on the cards, in my few experiences. This is one of those Trucker Boy find cards (Google it) that boomeranged back to me. I forget if I soaked this one, but I remember getting an edge of a paper remnant to come up, then peeled off the paper that was on the back. I used warm distilled water and a Qtip. The blob on back was half the size of a dime... .

Is that paper loss on the back? I can't tell from the photo if it's paper stuck to the glue, or if you have a tear in the paper stock from where it was removed.
