I sent in a card over a month ago. It started it's process 30 days ago and got to level 4 in the process, then....nothing
Did their entire staff go to the national? Will they get back to those submissions that weren't turned in at the National? Frustrating.. |

You are just assuming they stopped grading other submissions, on what basis? Relax.

Pack your patience. Unless you are submitting at one of the premium levels, it’s going to take a while. If you’re submitting at the value level, you could easily be waiting for 4-5 months.
At least, that’s been my experience lately.

It's PSA, I waited almost 2 years for a sub to come back. If you want quick turn times go with SGC.

Just curious, when a submission is made, does PSA provide some type of turn around time on submissions? I would think they could put something on their web site indicating an approximate return time. You have to figure that they know how many cards are in process, how long it will take to process those cards and then adjust as the orders come in.

I have a submission that was received on 03/02, went to grading on 03/09.....not bad and went to assembly on 06/22. Over a month in the assembly stage. The wait continues.

The most disappointing thing is ultimately the lack of transparency. My assumption is that PSA knows they are the industry leader, so they don't feel any urgency or need to provide a better customer experience, because they know people will keep sending in cards, and they aren't really facing any real pressure from the other companies.
I have 2 orders there now, and a third I will be shipping off in a week or so. I will probably hold off on any other submissions for a few months to see if things improve on their side or not. |

Are their modern value submissions historically much faster then their vintage submissions?

Some have surmised that PSA has separate teams for grading modern v. vintage, and the modern team has a lot more capacity relative to demand these days.

The vintage were to be returned to me and the modern, on a lark, I had them sent to their vault. The modern were done and at the vault within a few weeks. The vintage is still in grading, and has been for months. Wondering if it’s because it’s a modern sub, or because I chose to send to their vault, to possibly sell through the Goldin platform? |

So it may be less about the vault and just more about modern moving quick due to more capacity in that team. I'm guessing they hired aggressively due to a large backlog of modern submissions over the last few years, and now that they've cleared the modern backlog, with modern submissions down these days, there is a lot more modern capacity relative to submissions.

Thanks for the response. Makes sense. Guessing they don't trust a lot of these newer graders to transition over to vintage. |

Never thought about the modern vs. vintage piece of this. I've had two modern submissions back door-to-door in 30 calendar days at the standard level. I'm really curious about the submission I dropped off in Chicago. Hoping for more of the same but we shall see.

I think some of the graders who do modern are now doing vintage. I've seen several PSA returns on YouTube where the vintage returns had some really questionable grading. I'm not sure the graders you do modern know how to judge vintage properly.
