This week's auction theme is 'Hall of Fame Bits and Pieces of T202 cards'. You are bidding on T202 middle panels of Hall of Famer Frank Chance, and an additional one of an unidentified player who supposedly was 'Caught Asleep Off First'. I have always had an issue with the whole writeup of the second card, because the photo reveals, at least to my eyes, that the runner will easily make it back to the base before the first baseman will catch the ball and has to swing around to tag him. Oh well, who needs the truth when a point needs to be made? And on the 'Chance Beats Out a Hit', look how the first baseman's foot stretches all the way across the bag, and how they appear to be colliding into each other...did the players have no concern for each others lives or limbs back then?
Both of these middle panels have been separated from their T202 end friends, and in addition have had their borders trimmed off. Some corner creasing on both, but otherwise fairly fresh and almost daisy like. I have 3 lots of T202 HOF ends and middles listed separately. Minimum opening bid is $5 for each lot. The shipping if you win one lot will be $4.50, for two lots it will also be $4.50 total. Win all 3 lots and the shipping is FREE. All cards will be shipped in a padded envelope. Personal check or Paypal accepted. Good Luck! Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 02-28-2023 at 05:23 PM. Reason: Added $5 minimum bid amount for each lot in description |

Actually, the rules have been edited and now the minimum is a buck. Which begs the question, why is #3 a rule?

I believe it is a good rule...a low minimum bid in theory promotes bidding. I think it sticks this thought in a potential bidder's mind - "I just may get this for a steal, no matter how many times I have to outbid my opponent(s)!" Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 02-26-2023 at 07:01 PM. |
