Hi All:
Hope everybody is doing great. Just a quick note to let you know that LOTG's Spring Premier Auction is now open for bidding. The auction closes April 5. This is one of the best auctions we've ever done, chock full of stuff you don't see every day. While there are too many highlights to list, I will point out a few I like very much: 1) A large group of signed 1949 Bowman cards that make up part of a nearly-complete set we will be offering over the next two auctions. The highlight is, of course, a gorgeous Jackie Robinson, with the autograph graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA. 2) One of the coolest Jos. Hall imperial cabinets I've ever seen, featuring the 1888 New York Giants and six Hall of Famers. 3) An incredible Type 1 photo of Jackie Robinson's first major league at bat. It is the only example of this photo we've ever seen, and the only Type 1 photo we've seen of what might just be the most important event in baseball history. Stuff like this gives me chills. 4) An unbelievable collotype of the 1882 Providence Grays with four Hall of Famers including George Wright, Harry Wright, Hoss Radbourn and John Ward, as well as Sandy Nava, regarded as the first Mexican-American player in the majors. 5) The largest grouping of 1921 White's Big Tip Top Baltimore Orioles we've ever seen in one place - 17 cards in total, highlighted by the highest-graded Lefty Grove. 6) A gorgeous Duke Cabinets Ed Delahanty. On top of this, there's a huge assortment of rare type cards, a high-grade 1960 Topps set break (the #1 complete basic set with wax pack on the PSA Registry), amazing groups of both 1908-09 Hall's Studio Giants cabinets and 1886 J. Wood New York Metropolitans cabinets, gorgeous Old Judges, and a fantastic group of Type 1 photos, many from the Durham find we began selling last year. On top of THIS, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this auction to the Wildfire Relief Fund of the California Community Foundation, which works with the communities most impacted by the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles to provide direct relief. The auction is live now, but as is often the case, we are still putting finishing touches on it, adding descriptions and proofing lots. We like to give the Net54 folks a head start on bidding, though, so we're letting you know about it here first! Good luck to everyone bidding, as well as all our awesome consignors.
