Default 1952 Bauer card dilemma

I've been going thru my modern Yankees, trying to sell some so I can move to vintage with some money. As I was looking I found (I think) a fairly nice 1952 Hank Bauer, #215. It is I believe a gray back with red and black printing. I'm going to put scans of each side at the end, so you all can see it. I believe this card to be genuine, but I know Topps did print an archive set in 1983. I think the back of the reprints are a white background (is this correct?)

I can't find where I purchased the card, at one time I was going to do a registry set of Bauer. I would still like to grade the card, as think it would get a passable grade. But if the card is fake, obviously it will not be grade.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The Topps reprint set of the 52 set are standard size cards and not the oversized cards.

Default That's a good sign

I'm glad to hear that. I thought they were, and I measured this one and it is 2 5/8" by 3 3/4". So this is one good sign for real.

Looks legit to me but I'm not that familiar with the reprint sets.
If you are thinking it is a genuine gray back and I'm understanding what your trying to say, gray backs in the 52 Topps set run from card 131 to 190, none higher.
Here is my Bauer for comparison but because it's in a slab it didn't scan very well.

Can I see the back, rather than 2 fronts?

As Dale noted the scarce gray backs that command a premium run 131-190.

Nice looking Bauer

+1, authentic. All Bauer's have gray backs.

The variations gray backs are only series 3, that was primarily printed on a brighter creamy white stock and for which gray stock cards are rare and pricy.

99% sure your card is authentic. Just compared it to one of mine.
