The original painting was one of a series done in the '40's or '50's that depicts Hall of Fame players, mostly in their old age. The John McGraw painting includes his HOF plaque, since he had died years before. (I have prints of three of these, including Cobb, McGraw, and Honus Wagner, all in poor condition.)
