1953 Bowman Color Mitchell Frustration
During the Super Bowl, I was following the 1953 Bowman Color Dale Mitchell on Greg Morris's auction to replace my PSA 4.5 that I already have in my set. As you 53 Bowman Color collectors already know, the Mitchell is tough to find centered, (which is why mine was graded at a 4.5), and costly when found in ex-mint condition or above. This was graded at ex to ex-mint with perfect centering and no wear apparent on the corners. I had the winning bid at just over $48.00, a steal. When I took it out of the envelope to put it into my set, however, I noticed this indentation at the bottom left of the card.
Greg Morris has an excellent reputation and I'm not here to sully it. I don't know if this got past someone, even I didn't notice it until the light happened to catch it, but here I thought I had found the perfect replacement. Yes, I know I can return the card, but it has better eye appeal than my current Mitchell which has no damage except the 20/80 centering from left to right. I know the majority of collectors today would recommend eye appeal, and it is a nice card, it's just the frustration of looking forward to getting a great card only to have it marred by an unnoticed or unmentioned flaw. Please excuse the rant.

Reason: I meant to put this into the watercooler discussion section.
