Sorry to hear this. I only knew him a little bit as he is who bought the 1903 AL Horner Composite from Hunt. And I did a nice trade and cash deal with him for it. He sounds like he was a really good guy. Condolences to family and friends.

Saddened and stunned to hear about Chris' tragic passing.
We worked a few trades and lived in the same area of Maine. I always enjoyed chatting with Chris at the Shriner's Auditorium show each year. Patrick |

I too was shocked when I heard about Chris' passing. He was always a pleasure to see at the Wilmington MA card show and he always had what I love (early photos and ephemera). He also collected passionately and bought several items from me over the years. He was always very enthusiastic about any item you showed him, no matter the value.
I got to know him a little better in the past year so it was even harder to process his sudden death. I know other board members and lurkers knew him better. I spoke to a few people who went to his funeral and it was an extremely large turnout which befit his impact on his community and beyond. To show just one small way how he was a great person, he was given the opportunity to purchase some early baseballs at the Wilmington show this past November. He knew that I was walking around the show, and had a great interest in early baseballs. Instead of buying them from the person, he found me and let me strike a deal with the buyer to buy the baseballs (a full size lemon peel, an early full size figure eight, and two small lemon peel balls). I offered him money or trade for facilitating the deal but he refused saying it was his pleasure. I will miss him. The Wilmington show will not be the same without him in his usual upfront, corner table. Alan |
