Since Spring of 2021 I have seen a larger and larger disparity between ah house prices realized and private online and at show sales on same cards.
IMO in today’s market the disparity gap has never been wider. What’s Say You??? |

Private sales you can negotiate, auction houses no negotiations. Joe

Can you give a few examples? I follow memorabilia and early scorecards specifically and With them I have seen the Auction and private sale prices narrow. Where AH prices used to be soft now I see examples at shows priced closer to AH prices. I attribute that to the use of comps by both buyers and sellers.

Super high end low pop items (which you rarely see at shows these days anyway), I am not seeing that big a disparity. Some specific examples as a previous post requested could be helpful in responding.

Hi
another gap could be the result of in private sales not paying the Buyers/sellers premium, tax, shipping etc. I have recently done both sales from Auction Houses and Private Sales and I personally do not see any increase/decrease in the gap of the sales. It may also depend on what cards or items being sold. As others said if you could provide examples that might help us out.
