Like many top prospects, The Mick was only 19 when he made his debut, batting third ahead of Joe DiMaggio. He singled in the bottom of the 6th inning, driving in Jackie Jensen who led off the inning with a double and had advanced to third ahead of him. This image was taken either on April 17 or 18, 1951 as it was dated after the Yanks had caught a train to DC for a road trip.
