Default Epson perfection v600 photo scanner

This is a used Epson V600 scanner. Please read carefully.

Full disclosure: I was in a pawn shop a couple of years ago and there were 2 of these that were clearanced out for $5/each, but both were missing the power cords. I bought them both, brought them home and stuck them in the closet where I forgot about them until just recently. As you can see from the sticker, their original asking price was $130 on 10/9/17. Their pricing is structured so that the longer the item sits on the shelf, the lower it goes.

$104 - 12/09/17
$91 - 02/10/18
$78 - 04/14/18

Well, they never sold, so to get rid of them they marked them down to $5/each. After all, who is going to buy a used electronic device for those kind of asking prices if you can’t even plug it in and test out? But for only $5/each, I figured I would take a gamble.

Well I just dug them out of the closet and bought a couple of power cords to test them out. They both work great! These scanners have a great reputation. Here is a thread on this scanner from just a few months ago.

Well, I don’t need 2, so I am selling one for now, I may sell the other later. I’m asking $135 delivered net to me. You’ll get the scanner and power cord. It does not come with the printer cable. You can download the drivers and manuals here.

These are selling on eBay in the $200 price range, so I think my asking price is a great deal.

There is no warranty. I guarantee it to work when you receive it or I’ll refund your money. After that, you’re on your own. Please keep in mind that it is a used electronic and I know nothing about the history. I don’t know how old it is. I don’t know how often it was used. I can tell you that it will work when you get it and looks good cosmetically (I’ve removed all the stickers).

Moved to eBay.

These sell USED on eBay for $200+ all day long. The last 5 used ones that sold on eBay are captured below. The cheapest was $209.25 (including shipping) and the most expensive was $293.99 (including shipping). I thought my asking price here was a steal. I guess not. We'll see what eBay bidders think.

I wouldn't take it personally David, I think the vast majority of people have all-in-one printers with non-CCD scanners (like the Epson you have) and don't understand the benefits of a stand-alone. Those all-in-one machines can't handle anything thicker than paper effectively.

FWIW this is a great all-around scanner (I have a diifferent Epson from the same period (still going strong) but have also used the V600 at work. Great for flats, slabs, I've even used it for baseballs and other 3-d items.

One thing, if you do sell it don't forget to lock the scanner for shipping. On mine there is a switch on the back. This keeps the scanning mechanism from getting bounced around during shipping. Info should be in the manual.

Good luck with the sale and congrats on a great find...how come I can never find these deals? No for lack of trying...:-)

I have one of these scanners and it has transformed my collection and ability to sell. I really enjoy viewing my cards but am often not near them, so this high quality scanner is very beneficial.

Thanks for the advice on locking the scanner. Much appreciated.

Yeah, it has such great reviews, that's why I was surprised there wasn't much interest here. Oh, well. It sold on eBay for $175 + $25 shipping and the buyer paid another $20.50 sales tax on top of that (Illinois).
