OT: eBay Glitch. Is Anyone Else Experiencing This?

I've been on eBay since 2001, and never before have I experienced a problem like this one.

Here's the scenario:

I win an auction and my item is displayed in my eBay account under "Unpaid Items".

I then purchase the item using my PayPal account. The transaction seems to be processed and goes through with no problem.

The item is now displayed in my eBay account under "Orders". In place of the dollar sign icon ($) that is normally displayed (to indicate that the item has been paid for) is an hourglass icon. The message "Your payment is pending." is also displayed.

After approximately 10-15 minutes, the item reverts back to being displayed in the "Unpaid Items" section.

This issue has been occurring within the past month with approximately 20% of my purchases.
It seems to make no difference who the seller is, as I could pay for an item on Monday and all goes fine, then on Tuesday I could attempt to pay for another item and experience the aforementioned problem (all with the same seller).

Additionally, the method of payment makes no difference. I've tried using a credit card and had the same results.

I've been on the phone with eBay three times about this issue (the last time was today), and it still has not been rectified. On November 22nd, the eBay rep agreed that there seems to be some sort of computer "glitch" and that said she would "open a ticket" for their technical team. Today I was told to be patient and give it another week or two.

In the meantime, I'm pissing-off my sellers who are opening unpaid item cases against me.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem?
