Did Anyone Notice...7 DOUBLE PLAYS!!!!
The Cubs turned a MLB record-tying SEVEN Double-Plays in their 9-Inning 1-0 victory Friday.
This was only the third time in ML History that it was done in a 9-Inning game. Interestingly, the two previous times- in 1969, by the Giants and in 1942, by the Athletics, the team turning the DPs lost the game! In these days of exit velocity and launch angle, it was refreshing to see an outstanding team defensive performance. ...another outstanding team defensive performance that happened earlier this season, that I forgot to post: The Braves made only FIVE errors the entire month of June!
