Under the radar for years, this set is one of the scarcest issues ever. Originally printed on large uncut sheets of 63 cards each, the production run was limited to only 100 sheets. Many, but not all of these were double-printed. So even if every card remained in circulation, which is obviously not the case, the population of each of these cards would range from a total of only 100 to 200 ever produced! An additional note: These cards were designed with no borders, and weren’t perfectly aligned on each sheet. Therefore, even the most careful efforts to cut them apart would still result in many of them showing slivers of the borders of the cards they were adjacent to on the original sheet.

Finally, please note that the size of each card measures about 5 ½” X 3 3/8”. I have determined that they can all be effectively trimmed to about 5 3/8” X 3 ¼”, which is the largest size that could be obtained after trimming away the excess border edges. I do own a cutting board, and would be glad to professionally trim each card upon the request of the winning bidder at no additional cost, which would give each card a very clean look around the edges.

It’s a tough set to put together for an average price of under $8 per card, which is the opening bid on this one. Not bad considering that over 54% of the players are Hall of Famers, the highest football card set HOF percentage I know of.
