FINALLY...a trivia answer I know.
edited to add...I can't tell you exactly what year it was...other than 72 thru '74. My college roommate was a huge White Sox guy and I remember him ranting about this over and over. He ranted about baseball a lot! wilbur.jpg

You're correct, Bob. The year was 1973 and Wood lost both ends of a double-header against the Yankees just before the break on July 20 to bring his 'first-half' record to 18-14 in 247.2 innings!- he finished 24-20 in 359.1 innings and 376.2 innings in 1972...back when knuckleballers were men!

Hard to believe there was a time when a team let a get make TWO starts in a day. 372 innings😲❗️
I saw him pitch a few times in Yankee Stadium and in Arlington.
