Let me start off May with one of the two hardest 1969 Cubs, Coach Verlon "Rube" Walker. Not to be confused with his older brother Rube (Albert) Walker of the 1955 Dodgers. I'm going to mat this anyway, so the cut attached to a magazine page doesn't bother me, and allowed me to get this at a fantastic price. I had missed out on two others over the years, and almost pulled the trigger on one other before this one came up. Interesting fact that I was unaware of, as Verlon was coaching the 69 Cubs and watching them go down in flames, his brother Albert was coaching the Miracle Mets and watching them pass the Cubs and go all the way.
The rest of the Cubs that I need are fairly easy, so it should be smooth sailing. |

Didn't have a Dean, thought this vintage ball was pretty cool and fairly cheap.

Not sure if I am going to hold onto this one or not. First one I have ever seen signed from this set.
