1930’s Yankees Uniforms had bibs?
Not sure if this is the right forum...
I have seen many photos of Babe Ruth/Gehrig in my life, but I was very intrigued when I found video of the Yankees on opening day 1934 (vs. Philadelphia). On the back of their Yankees jerseys, instead of the number being sewn directly onto the back of the uniform, it was sewn onto a bib. Then the bib was safety pinned to the jersey. Anyway, is this common knowledge that they used to attach numbers in this fashion? In all my years I had never seen it before.... Anyway, just a curiousity of mine.
