Here's his eBay listings link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/likecards2/...1&_ipg=&_from=
I met Bill on eBay - great guy! After he approved my Best Offer on a Buy-It-Now Topps '68 Johnny Bench rookie card, he even offered to find some other vintage Bench cards and send them to me for free of charge, flatly refusing to accept any offer of mine to pay anything . . . even the shipping was free! I So I just got a '70 Topps Bench card #660 in the mail yesterday, not perfect, but in very collectible shape. The following eBay excerpt from our message exchanges will give you a better idea of where he is coming from, and hopefully you will get the chance to meet him too. I told him that getting the '70 Bench card made me feel like a little kid, to which he replied . . . Well Robert, that's exactly what you should be feeling. These cards never die. The memories they make when you are a kid are still there when you get to be a big kid. If I had anything to do with some of these memories getting created again, my work was done. I was very glad I had that card, just wish that card and the rookie card was in much better condition. Robert, I just an ole/old guy collecting cards for 60+ years, had a lot of help along the way, found out my two children and their children could care less about all my cards and autographed baseballs, and if something happened to me, my wife was right there with the kids, she could care less too, so all I was seeing was all my treasures going to the dump. So, I checked out eBay and found out about 9 months ago, how to list the stuff and price it on the low side, I could move some of it out and always give the customer more than they had bought and I get to meet good guys like you. Not all folks are appreciative, some want all they can get and then more plus at less than 1/2 price or less. I've been the collector and loved good deals, but it don't always happen. I like helping my collector friends and I always try to give more than I receive, or at least I hope I do. If you have any collector friends, I would appreciate you sending them to my eBay site, likecards2, and if I don't have what they are looking for ask them to send me a message of what they are looking for. I will get back with them ASAP. I had over 500,000 cards and over 250 autographed baseballs. Lots of stuff in lots of boxes. Way to much stuff. Thanks for your note tho. That makes me feel good when someone appreciates something you do and stirs up the "kid again" juices. I get them now all the time. Love these little treasures. Take care my collecting friend. Bill |
