JM Moreno is the 25th best soccer player of all time according to IFFHS. To put this into perspective, only Stanley Matthews, Meazza and Sindelar are ranked of the prewar players (and Matthews at 11th also played post war while Meazza 21st and Sindelar at 22nd are basically in a dead heat with him)... in other words, he is "right there" to be considered one of the elite of all time. He was the first player to win championships in 4 different countries: Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. When JM Moreno was on your team, you won, bottom line. I think of him as the Lebron for yesterday South American soccer!
If you want to read more about him here and many other sources, but onto some of my favorite soccer cards: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Manuel_Moreno |
